| This series features a diaphragm actuator that is proprietary to the Flex-Valve, resulting in an economically priced valve. This actuator is sized to permit the use of lower operating air pressures. For higher line pressures, larger diaphragm assemblies are available for additional thrust.
The Air-to-Close is for service where the valve is normally in the open position. Air pressure applied to the area above the diaphragm will close the valve in opposition to the force of the line pressure in the valve sleeve. The line pressure will assist in opening the sleeve.
The Air-to-Open type is used when applications require a normally closed valve. The area above the diaphragm is pressurized through a check valve, with the required air pressure to keep the valve closed. The valve is opened by applying higher air pressure below the diaphragm to open the valve.
The most popular accessory required on a Series 6300 Pinch Valve is the positioner which is mandatory for automatic control applications. This allows the diaphragm actuated valve to be controlled by a 3-15 PSI instrument air signal for proportional control of the valve port opening. The I/P transducer can be used along with a positioner allowing the valve to be controlled by a 4-20 mA instrument signal. The positioner is compactly mounted with no exposed mechanical parts to conform with the overall design of the Flex-Valve.
